Online-Safety

Here at Grove we consider your safety very important when you are using the Internet or any form of technology.

Forensic Software

The use of ICT is monitored through forensic software which creates reports of Internet misuse, inappropriate content accessed and inappropriate searches. At each log in session an acceptable use screen flashes up with rules of using the internet safely and computers within school, at this point, the user is asked if they agree to abide by these rules or not. If the 'accept' button is pressed then the log on procedure resumes and use is monitored through the forensic software. If 'do not accept' is clicked, then the ICT log on and session closes down.

ICT is used in every single class throughout the school and we know you use it at home also, so it is important that you know what to do in order to stay safe.

This is how we stay safe when we use computers:

  • I will ask an adult if I want to use the computer

  • I will only use activities that an adult has told or allowed me to use.

  • I will take care of the computer and other equipment

  • I will ask for help from an adult if I am not sure what to do or if I think I have done something wrong.

  • I will tell an adult if I see something that upsets me on the screen.

  • I know that if I break the rules I might not be allowed to use a computer.

It's not just computers though, any technology that involves connecting through the internet or chatting with someone you cannot see face to face has it's risks.

  • X- Box

  • Mobile Phones

  • Laptops

  • BBM

  • Facebook (although you should be 13 in order to access this one!)

So, we deal with all sorts of issues!

So, if you have a problem whilst you are online, whether it be feeling something is nasty or you don't feel comfortable with it, press the report button below and someone will read about your problem and see what we can do to help

You can also report issues by SMS by texting GRO1 and your message to 078600 21584
