Image of Year 6 Trip to Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre

As mentioned in the autumn term information letter, Year 6 are studying the topic ‘The Unexplained’. To support learning in this topic, the children will be visiting Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre in Macclesfield. This is an exciting and informative visit where the children can explore the wonders of the universe and how Jodrell Bank scientists use radio telescopes to learn more about distant objects in space.

The four classes in year 6 will be visiting on the same day: Wednesday 14th November 2018.

Children will need to arrive at school at 8:45am prompt as the coach will leave the school at 9:00am and return at approximately 3:30pm. Children are expected to wear full school uniform and wear a warm and waterproof coat and sensible shoes. Those children who are on free school meals will have a packed lunch provided; all other children will need to bring a healthy packed lunch and a non-fizzy drink.  If this can be brought in a carrier bag, it can all be thrown away afterwards.

We ask for donations towards the trip of £16 per child, to be paid by Wednesday 6th November, which will cover the cost of admission and the coaches.  If enough donations are not collected, the trip may not be able to go ahead.

In the attempt to remove all cash and cheques from school, we are asking all parents to use our e-payment method to pay for this trip. This can be done online using the Parentpay website.

If you have not already activated your Parentpay account you will have previously received a unique activation username and password, you will be prompted to change these and to keep them safe and secure as your Username and Password for future logins. Once you have activated your account you can make payments straight away.

Please do not hesitate to communicate through your child’s diary if you need assistance. Your support in using Parentpay will help the school enormously.
